Genteel Southport, and the Crosby coast

Sefton runs from one of the grandest seaside towns in the North to the terraces of the docks. Southport is Victorian and Edwardian villas, big period and retirement homes and a lot of converted flats and former guesthouses around the Lord Street conservation area, so the check-out is sash windows, high cornicing dust and carpet wear in large rooms. Southport and Bootle town centres are controlled, and Sefton doesn’t issue visitor permits to landlords or in central Southport, so for a town flat we use pay-and-display or come in by train. There is no clean-air charge for the van in Merseyside.
