Quick photo checklist (high impact)
- Kitchen: hob, oven (inside if cleaned), sink/taps, worktops, inside cupboards (if cleaned), fridge (if included)
- Bathrooms: toilet, shower screen, taps, tiles/grout, mirror, limescale-prone areas
- All rooms: skirting boards, visible marks on doors, floors, inside windows/sills (if cleaned)
- Meters + keys (hand-over evidence)
How to take photos that actually help
Use daylight if possible and take both wide shots and close-ups. Wide shots show context; close-ups show detail.
If there’s a known issue (stain, chip, mould), photograph it clearly and avoid filters.
- Take 1 wide + 2 close-ups for each important area
- Include a date/time stamp if your phone supports it
- Keep originals (don’t compress too much before saving)
Store your evidence safely
- Create one folder per tenancy and keep everything together
- Back up to cloud storage (iCloud/Google Drive) the same day
- Keep screenshots of any messages agreeing standards or scope
